The HPD engine brake system converts a four-stroke engine into a two-stroke engine by closing the intake valve and exhaust valve. In the traditional engine braking system, every time the cam rotates one round, there must be a process of compressed exhaust and gas circulation. The innovative two-stroke technology allows the driver to obtain an excellent balance between acceleration, deceleration and fuel consumption efficiency, and can provide small and medium-sized diesel and natural gas engines with the same deceleration power as large-displacement engines.

From the test data, the HPD engine brake system is 1.5 times faster than the traditional compression brake during the normal engine operation, and 2 times faster than the compression brake during the engine low-speed operation. The system uses a correction cam to transmit a braking torque of 2000Nm at a speed of 1300rpm in a 13-liter engine, and a braking force of 611kW at a speed of 2500rpm. It can be said that HPD engine braking has an absolute advantage in braking performance.
